VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Mid-Atlantic District Disaster Response Auction Support

The Mid-Atlantic 40th District Disaster Response Auction Booklet is coming soon. You can be a part of this tremendous effort to raise funds to help in responding to Natural Disasters. When disaster strikes, we are there. We send teams again and again until the job is done. In support of this effort, COB sponsors an annual Mid-Atlantic Disaster Response Auction. Mark it on your calendars and show support by being there on Saturday, May 2, 2020. Until then, place an ad either as a Patron Ad starting at $10.00 or a Business Ad (cost is dependent on size of ad), or Sunday School Group in the booklet. Please see the FCOB Coordinators stationed in the Hallway before all 3 services on Sundays January 19, January 26, and February 2. If you have any questions, contact Alice Stup at 301-695-7467.

Stewardship Team Volunteers

Stewardship is an important aspectin the work of our church, ministries and outreach. As an act of worship, we are called to communicate God’s plan for the church body and provide options to participate in the mission. The Operations Committee is seeking individuals interested in being part of the charter and formation of a Stewardship Team.  The commitment would be short term for the development of a vision, charter and team. Please prayerfully consider this important task and reach out to Ruth Earp if interested.

Women's Ministry Magazine Collection

The FCOB Women’s Ministry is collecting used magazines for their upcoming January 18 Vision Board Potluck event. Any unwanted magazines (women’s, travel, finance, health, etc.) would be appreciated. Please drop off your magazines in the boxes in the Sanctuary hallway and the MPR entrance until January 17.

The books are $20 each and checks should be made to FCOB, with History book in the memo line. Proceeds go to the General Fund and may be used to purchase additional printings of the book if needed. The book includes the history of our congregation from our founding in 1880 through 2018, and has many photographs, old and new. Please enjoy reading the story of FCOB.
